NEW!!! Canine Fun-Scents: Does your dog use his nose constantly? Are you looking for something fun to do with your dog? If you answered yes to either question, this is the class for you. In this class, we teach your dog to search for things with his nose. It starts off with finding treats in boxes, and eventually will progress to searching a room or an outdoor area for a specific scent.
Pre-requisite: Dog should be able to be handled by a friendly stranger, and be able
to work around people. Dogs with dog-dog aggression are invited to join us - all dogs are crated in between their "turn" at scenting.
Eligibilty:
Dogs of any age with the manners described above.
Class
Length: 6 weeks
Cost: $125 per dog |
Puppy Manners: Puppy-only classes are VERY important to give your puppy the
right start in life. In our Puppy Manners class, puppies learn the basics (sit, lay down, come when called, walking on leash, and more). More importantly, because we also have supervised off-leash play time during class, they will also learn how to "work & play well with
others". This includes learning how to communicate with other dogs and to temper the pressure of their jaws. This is also known as bite inhibition, and a dog who has developed bite inhibition is less likely to do damage with his teeth as an adult.
Don't miss out on your puppy's best chance to be a good dog - enroll her in class today!! The old saying "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" is certainly applicable to dogs as well!
Eligibilty: Any puppies 10-20 weeks of age on the first night of class.
Class Length: 6 weeks
Cost: $175 per dog |

Puppy Manners 2: As puppies make their journey into adulthood, they all must pass through those "puppy teen" stages. Hormones racing, confidence building, energy increasing; even if you've taken a puppy class this can be a challenging time! Not to mention that fact that most of us, once we leave class, slack off a little in our training... In Puppy Manners 2 we pick up where we left off in Puppy 1; we increase distractions, ask for longer stays and watch me's, faster recalls, and overall look to strengthen the foundations you've already built. In addition, it's a good idea to continue to socialize your dog all throughout her life, especially during this stage of growth.
Eligibilty: Puppies 6 months or younger who have taken a Puppy 1 class with us or another positive reinforcement trainer - or - puppies who can demonstrate a basic sit, down, stay, come, leave-it, and decent leash walking skills
Length: 6 weeks
Cost: $175 per dog |

Doggie Manners 1: Good manners make good dogs! This beginner-level class will teach you and your dog the basics, so your dog will be the great companion you’ve always wanted. This class is appropriate for anyone who's never trained a dog, someone who's trained before using corrections and wants to learn a new way, or someone who's just a little rusty on the basics and needs a refresher. Great for dogs and humans of all ages!
Eligibilty: Dogs 5 months of age or older
Class Length: 8 weeks
Cost: $170 per dog |
Doggie Manners 2: In Doggie Manners 2, we refine the behaviors you learned in Doggie Manners 1 by adding bigger distractions, longer durations, greater distances, and we also add a few new useful things for your dog to know such as an emergency stop and a "go to bed" command (useful when you don't want to be pestered at the dinner table!).
Eligibilty: See "Which Class Should You sign up for" Questions at the bottom of our Schedules/Registration Page.
Class Length: 7 weeks
Cost: $150 per dog |

"Growly Dog" Class: Some dogs just don’t know how to be nice around other dogs when on leash. This class teaches dogs AND owners to relax around other dogs when on-leash, and can help turn your lunging, pulling “Cujo” into a dog who’s much more pleasant to walk. Please Note - this class does NOT address off-leash aggression or play skills deficits. For help with off-leash and other aggression, please call our Consulting Coordinator Laura Sweet at 650-346-0442.
This class is limited to three dogs, and requires a
pre-screening to ensure that this class will be appropriate
for you and your dog. To register, please fill out and return the "Growly
Dog Questionnaire" to us.
ATTENTION - NEW GROWLY CLASS POLICY - AUDITING SPACES AVAILABLE!:
Our room is only large enough to accomodate 3 Growly Dogs per class, and consequently, this class always fills up and usually has a waiting list. Because of this, we are now offering two "Auditing Spots" per class. This would mean that you can attend the class, receive any class materials, ask questions in class, but that you would not be able to bring your dog. The cost to audit class is $100.
Eligibilty: Dogs 6 months or older who exhibit aggressive behavior towards other dogs while they are on leash.
ClassLength: 8 weeks
Cost: $275 per dog.
Important Note: Since we often have a waiting list for this small class, a $100 deposit is required to hold your spot in class. Preference will be given to students who have already submitted the deposit. The balance is due first day of class. |

- We only allow one dog per person in

- We do not allow choke, shock, or pinch collars

AND more humane.

Guest Trainers & Special Topics
|
We will also be bringing in "Guest" Trainers occasionally to teach classes which are different than we usually offer. Some examples of Special Topics classes: - Canine Agility - teaches your dog to run an obstacle course.
- Canine Freestyle - teaches you dancing with your dog.
- Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Classes prepare you for a CGC Exam. Passing this exam labels your dog as a "good citizen" which can be useful in a variety of contexts such as apartment rentals, therapy dogs, and more.
- Rally-O - a competition obedience course.
If there are any classes you would like for us to schedule, don't be afraid to ask! |
